PILGRIMS CAPTAIN IS HAPPY TO BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
IT will be a first for even Plymouth Argyle's long-serving captain Joe Edwards to have a game at Home Park on Boxing Day when the Pilgrims take on Reading in League One this afternoon (3pm).
Edwards joined Argyle in the summer of 2019, but it has not been since 2016 that the Pilgrims have played at the Theatre of Greens on a December 26.
That was when the Pilgrims, the managed by their current director of football Derek Adams, played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Gareth Ainsworth's Wycombe Wanderers.
There was a crowd of 12,210 for the League One fixture and the fans saw Scott Kashket give the visitors an early lead only for Argyle to surge into a 3-1 lead by early in the second half after goals from Jordan Slew, Jake Jervis and Yann Songo'o.
