Financiers with £1.4bn in assets eyeing up Plymouth

Cardan Wealth Management is based in Taunton but has been growing in the region by acquiring the business of financial advisors who are perhaps looking to retire.

Andrew Hennah, senior partner, said Plymouth was “most certainly” on the radar, and said: “We are looking at the South West, from Bristol to Land's End. A lot of people don't want to hand over the keys to a private equity company but we are old-school, clients first.”

Alex Morley, chief executive, said Cardan’s second acquisition was a small financial advice business in Plymouth and said: “His clients are still with us and locally advised, not at some faceless call centre offshore.”

He added: “We are coming this way, we want an office in Plymouth, and expect to have one in Truro too.”
