NOMINATED for Australian Artist of the Year at the Folk Alliance Awards in both 2023 and 2024, award-winning Melbourne-based indie-folk singer-songwriter Ernest Aines is in the UK again this month and will be performing a show in the city next week after appearing at the Dart Music Festival.
Ernest's three recent UK tours boasted sold-out venues and rave reviews, affirming his reputation as a captivating live performer and his soulful voice, intricate finger-picking, and emotive storytelling have drawn comparisons to the likes of Ray LaMontagne, Bon Iver and Nick Drake, while Americana UK likened him to Paul Simon and Jeff Buckley.
A standing ovation in Liverpool last year led to a coveted BBC invitation to play live and he was also invited to perform at the prestigious Cambridge Folk Festival, after which he was booked to play for the next season of Celtic Connections in Glasgow. In fact, so popular is Ernest here already that his UK tour this spring will be his fourth in just 18 months.
