THE latest book by Plymouth historian and author Chris Robinson has been launched at Theatre Royal Plymouth - four decades after Chris launched his first book.

- By HERALD REPORTER

Plymouth in the Eighties covers an era which saw events including the opening of Derriford Hospital to Plymouth Argyle reaching the semifinals of the FA Cup.

The launch of the new book on Monday was attended by well over 100 invited guests who braved the wind and rain to get to Theatre Royal Plymouth.

It was exactly 40 years ago that Chris launched his first book, Plymouth As Time Draws On, at the very same venue, so Monday's event was also a celebration of 40 years of Pen & Ink, the publishing company run by his wife, Clare.
