City MP is seeking action in Whitleigh

BRIDGE PICKED OUT AS ROUTE USED BY LAW BREAKERS

A PLYMOUTH MP has called upon the council to install a CCTV at an antisocial behaviour hot-spot in Whitleigh used as an 'escape route' for e-bikers, after joining police on the beat.

Fred Thomas, who represents Plymouth Moor View constituents, has added his voice to those of neighbourhood police officers who have highlighted issues at the location.

He said he joined officers from Crownhill police station earlier this year for a ride along in order to get a firsthand appreciation of the work they do and the difficulties they faced.

As they travelled around the Whitleigh patch, he said officers drew his attention to antisocial and criminal behaviour which has been taking place around the bridge that connects Bodmin Road and Whitleigh Way with Crownhill and Transit Way.
