HERE are the player ratings of Herald Sport's Argyle reporter Chris Errington from the Pilgrims’ 1-1 League One draw with Wigan Athletic at Home Park.

Conor Hazard 6 - Was within a few minutes of a second successive clean sheet on his return to League One action following a long-term knee injury until Fraser Murray was played through by Wigan teammate Christian Saydee and fired past the Northern Ireland international.

Brendan Wiredu 7 - Did not hold back in his challenges and a couple of times it looked like he might have hurt himself but he got up and carried on. His long throw-in has become a useful weapon for Argyle because he can get good distance on it into the opposition box.

Mathias Ross 7 - Had a strong game in the middle of Argyle’s central defensive trio as he largely nullified the threat of Wigan centre-forward Christian Saydee. Ross had a chance in added time at the end of the match to grab a winning goal but his header from a Tegan Finn corner flew over the bar.

Brendan Galloway 6 - Brought back into the team because Alex Mitchell was absent due to personal reasons. After his recent lack of first team action, Galloway was a little slow to react to situations early on but he did get up to the speed of the game. Now off on international duty with Zimbabwe for two 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Lesotho.
