POPULAR WITH STUDENTS, TWIST HAS OVER 600 GAMES

- By OLIVIER VERGNAULT

A BOARD game cafe which has become a locals' favourite is set to expand. Twist Board Game Cafe & Bar was set up in 2019 by Plymouth-born Hayley Summers after spotting a gap in the market.

Hayley first set up Twist in Mayflower Street with a view to design her own “dream hangout” as a place to chill with friends over board games, tasty homemade food and quality drinks.

The board game cafe has grown in popularity over the years, prompting Hayley to expand both its capacity and develop its food menu.

Hayley said: “We were at capacity, and getting requests for bigger bookings, which we were struggling to meet with our existing equipment.”

Twist has a library of over 600 games, from Scrabble and Kerplunk to Exploding Kittens and Pictionary.

For a small fee, customers get a four-hour session at a table, with staff on hand to recommend games that suit your group and mood, and even show you the ropes if necessary.
