Argyle Women see out 2025 in style with easy victory
The Herald
|December 23, 2025
PLYMOUTH Argyle Women rang in the festive break in style, claiming a commanding 3-0 victory over Real Bedford at Home Park and climbing to second in the National League Southern Premier Division, writes
It was a performance that combined clinical finishing, solid defensive organisation, and the perfect debut for new signing Una Lue, leaving fans in high spirits despite the damp conditions.
On a wet and blustery afternoon in PL2, Argyle dominated from the outset. Ellie Noble continued her impressive scoring form, while Lue marked her first appearance with a goal, describing it as a 'dream debut' just hours after being announced by the club.
Adding further intrigue, Olivia Francis returned to the starting lineup after a successful appeal against her dismissal in the FA Cup third round defeat away to Oxford United, immediately making an impact with her pace and creativity down the left flank.
The Greens started brightly, pressing Bedford high and forcing the visitors onto the back foot. Bedford goalkeeper Erica Meale was called into action early, tipping Noble's set-piece effort over the bar and making other reactive saves as Argyle maintained relentless pressure.
