Snow, wind and more disruption on the way as Storm Goretti hits

The UK is braced for further disruption as heavy snow and strong winds are expected to hit swathes of England and Wales tomorrow with the arrival of Storm Goretti.
Many parts of the country are already reeling from days of travel chaos and school closures, though last night was not expected to be as chilly as Monday night, when the temperature plunged to -12.5C in Norfolk, making it the coldest night of winter so far.
Warnings for snow and ice remain in place across the country today.
More than 1,000 schools closed across the UK yesterday from Oxfordshire to Orkney, and some pupils in the north of Scotland will enjoy a further extension of the Christmas holidays.
