Palermo at fever pitch over possible Dua Lipa nuptials
Speculation about wedding venues in rife in Sicily's baroque capital, Palermo Dua Lipa won Palermo's heart wearing the city's football strip. Spasimo church, left, is one potential venue while rooms at Villa Igiea have been booked

Last July, Dua Lipa shared a series of photos on Instagram during a holiday in Palermo with Callum Turner, the British actor she had become engaged to weeks earlier, in which the pair professed their love for the Sicilian capital.
There were pictures of the couple strolling through the city’s vibrant baroque alleys - one capturing “amore” scrawled on a wall - admiring the ceiling frescoes in its striking cathedral and enjoying sunset boat trips. In another, a smiling Turner is holding a pair of ricotta-filled cannoli, the iconic Sicilian dessert.
But if anyone is more excited about rumours that the couple might marry in Palermo this summer - possibly in June - it’s Alessandro Minnone, the owner of Colletti, a popular bar in the historic centre from where the British singer songwriter posted pictures of herself shuffling cards and holding a Campari soda when the couple visited for their aperitivo.
“I was honoured to welcome her to my venue,” Minnone told the Guardian, describing Dua Lipa as “a very down-to-earth and warm person”.
