Lynn calls on Callender for Wales' World Cup campaign

Alex Callender, the Wales co-captain, has been included in the team's 2025 Rugby World Cup squad named by the head coach, Sean Lynn, despite a recent foot injury.
Callender was injured on the team's tour of Australia, coming off early in the second match against the Wallaroos on 1 August. The 25-year-old will captain the side with Kate Williams.
There is a mix of experience and new talent in the squad comprising 19 forwards and 13 backs, with the hooker Carys Phillips ready to compete in a fourth Rugby World Cup tournament and the uncapped Branwen Metcalfe both named.
Metcalfe, whose sister Nel is also in the squad, made the team after impressive performances in the Under-20 Six Nations. Sian Jones misses out due to a wrist injury.
