Japanese brewer could run out of beer 'in days' after cyber-attack

The Asahi group, Japan's biggest brewery, is reportedly days away from running out of its most popular beer, as it struggles to recover from a cyber-attack. The ransomware attack, reported on Monday, caused a system outage and forced the company to halt production at most of its 30 factories nationwide, including those producing its signature mass-market lager Asahi Super Dry.
The firm, which also produces Nikka whisky and a range of alcoholic and soft drinks, has not said when it might be able to resume production, triggering alarm from wholesalers and retailers.
