Couple uncover second-century gravestone in their garden

A New Orleans couple clearing away undergrowth in their garden unearthed a Roman gravestone, setting off a quest for answers about how the 1,900-year-old relic ended up there and an effort to repatriate it to Italy.
The discovery was made by Daniella Santoro, an anthropologist at Tulane University, and her husband, Aaron Lorenz.
Santoro and Lorenz noted that an inscription carved on the headstone appeared to be in Latin, the magazine of New Orleans' Preservation Resource Center (PRC) reported.
Santoro then contacted the University of New Orleans archaeologist D Ryan Gray and her Tulane colleague Susann Lusnia, an associate professor of classical studies.
