Let this Yatra be a historic one - Kashmiris are the hosts
The Global Kashmir
|June 30, 2025
Locals and common Kashmiris across all tourist destinations are eagerly waiting to welcome devotees and celebrate the pilgrimage.

It is time to make this year's Yatra truly special and historic by participating wholeheartedly and serving as gracious hosts, just as Kashmiris have always done.
The Amarnath Yatra 2025 has begun with renewed spiritual energy and fortified resolve, drawing lakhs of devotees to the sacred cave shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. This year’s pilgrimage holds deeper meaning, not only for its religious sanctity but also for the collective resilience shown in the aftermath of the recent terror attack near Pahalgam. While challenges persist, the spirit of the Yatra has emerged stronger, with the people of Kashmir playing a pivotal role in ensuring peace, support, and seamless arrangements for the pilgrims.
The Amarnath Yatra continues to be one of the holiest pilgrimages in Hinduism, symbolic of faith, sacrifice, and spiritual enlightenment. Devotees undertake the challenging trek through the Himalayas to witness the naturally forming ice lingam of Lord Shiva inside the cave located at 13,000 feet. The Yatra typically coincides with the Hindu calendar months of Shravan and begins on auspicious dates as decided by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) Yatra has become a symbol of India’s unity in diversity, where devotees from different states and linguistic backgrounds come together for a common spiritual purpose.
