Welder left unable to walk after thug attacked him

A BRUTE in a 'blind rage' left a welder unable to walk or see properly after a Christmas party attack.

Thomas Collins, 34, punched his innocent victim in the back of the head at a bar on Bedford Street, in Middlesbrough, on December 8, 2023.

Teesside Crown Court heard a row had broken out over a drinks order prior to the violent assault.

The victim, 35, fell forwards down a flight of stairs, and suffered a fractured spine, bleeding on the brain and in a coma.

Twenty months later, he struggles to walk, to see properly and cannot use his hands well - which means he can't work.
