Petition for precinct to remain 'Eston Square'

AREA TO UNDERGO £10M REVAMP BUT RESIDENTS OPPOSING REBRAND

REDCAR and Cleveland Council plans to transform Eston Precinct could be accompanied by a new name although it has already run into opposition.

A rebrand is being considered for the area, also known by locals as Eston Square, which is subject to a near £10m revamp. Demolition of the old site is due to begin next month with seven new replacement retail units being built as part of a first phase of the improvement scheme, which includes a new outdoor area with paving, trees and benches along with power points for events and markets.
