TEENAGE Redcar favourite Jody Scott described the experience as "slightly surreal" when he 'jumped ship' to help Oxford's National Development League side demolish a severely-weakened Middlesbrough Tigers to clinch the 2025 title.

The Cowley-based 'Chargers' showed no mercy to the Heat Floors Tigers who, for various reasons, were forced to line up without three of their regular racers: Jamie Halder, Kai Ward and Charlie Southwick.
Tigers' boss Brian Turner could only gather three very inexperienced replacements and the record home defeat that followed seemed on the cards from the moment that Ace Pijper - Scott's fellow teenager and teammate at Redcar, was excluded for unfair riding when missing the gate and taking off Oxford's Jacob Clouting in his impatience to make up for lost ground.
