By Frankel out of the Bated Breath mare Present Tense, Participle is a half-sister to Macduff, who ran in last year’s Derby.

On her only outing last year, Participle pushed Ed Walker’s Qilin Queen to a nose at Salisbury in August.

Qilin Queen has since finished second to French Derby-bound Luther, third to the smart-looking Falakeyah and won a Listed race at Newbury to book her ticket for the Oaks.
