Former Boro man uses connections to build team aiming for Wembley glory
The Gazette
|May 10, 2025
GRAEME Lee will lead his Spennymoor Town side out at Wembley in the FA Trophy final tomorrow, with a strong Middlesbrough contingent at the heart of their side.
Using his connections as the former Boro under-23s boss, Lee has enjoyed a successful spell in charge of the National League North side in the past 18 months. As well as working with many from the solid squad that he inherited at Brewery Field, he has put his own stamp on the squad with many former Boro youth players linking up with him at the County Durham club.
Now, having beaten three National League sides including Rochdale on their way, The Moor play Aldershot Town tomorrow at Wembley, where they will aim to become only the second club in history to win the FA Vase and the Trophy.
In doing so, there will be many names familiar to Boro supporters lining up for Spennymoor at the national stadium.
