Boro taking action to curb injuries

ROB Edwards has detailed how Middlesbrough have been working hard on injury prevention over the summer, with a real determination to improve their injury picture after two years of struggle.

As Boro return to action today, Riley McGree will be the only first-team player not in training due to injury. The Australian has been one of many hit with persistent problems in those two years, and his delay on returning is due to extra work being done to try and ensure when he does return, he does so for the foreseeable.

It's true that injuries are up in the game across the board. Nevertheless, Boro have found themselves as one of the most affected sides in each of the last two campaigns - with reviews ongoing into doing as much as possible to improve the picture.
