WORLD CUP START MEANS £2M LIFT
MIDDLESBROUGH'S summer transfer kitty has been boosted as Djed Spence made his first World Cup start for England on Tuesday evening.
The former Boro defender started in Boston as Thomas Tuchel's side followed up their opening group stage win over Croatia with a frustrating goalless draw against Ghana.
Spence played 65 minutes of the game after replacing Nico O'Reilly in the starting XI. It was Spence's first World Cup start, and took him to eight caps for the Three Lions, having made his World Cup debut from the bench against Croatia.
