Barlaser secures late loan switch to Scotland

DAN Barlaser completed a late Middlesbrough exit on transfer deadline day, joining Hibernian on loan.

With the midfielder in the final year of his contract and well down the pecking order on Teesside, Boro spent much of transfer deadline day trying to get the 28-year-old out the door.

There was interest from Derby County and Millwall which ultimately didn’t materialise in a move before Monday's 7pm deadline. But Boro were then able to take advantage of Scotland's decision to keep their window open until 11pm in order to secure the move for Barlaser.
