At least eight new faces needed to get Boro up to speed

WELL done Middlesbrough at Ibrox ~ but the negatives still heavily out- weigh the positives at the moment.

The addition of Alfie Jones and Abdoulaye Kante is a great bonus, but it’s the attack which is in desperate need of an overhaul before the transfer window closes. Boro created plenty of chances against a second string Rangers side and should have won comfortably in the finish.

OK, itwas only a friendly. But Boro have so far failed to beat League One sides Mansfield and Bradford, and a Rangers side which was heavily depleted for much of the game. You can read too much into friendly results at times, but the under-functioning problem in attack was obvious at the end of last season and it still remains.

Oh for Emmanuel Latte Lath to come back knocking on the door. It's not just one new forward we need, it's arguably another two. And not just forwards, players who know when to do the right thing at the right time and put the ball in the net.
