Anmaat the ace in Prince of Wales's Stakes pack
The Gazette
|June 18, 2025
ANMAAT can reverse Curragh form with Los Angeles in the Prince of Wales's Stakes, the highlight on day two of Royal Ascot.

Owen Burrows’ charge is now a seven-year-old but rather than his powers waning, the Awtaad gelding only seems to be getting better.
Having made his racecourse bow at the back end of 2020 - when he was second to no less than multiple Group One scorer Rebel's Romance - Anmaat was viewed as handicap material at three, ending his campaign by finishing second in the Cambridgeshire from a mark of 98.
Three runs in 2022 yielded three wins, including his first two Group-race strikes and it looked as though 2023 was going to be a big year when he scored an initial Group One success in the Prix d’Ispahan.
Injury intervened though and he was off the track for 439 days before returning with a win at Haydock, which quickly escalated into a shock 40-1 success in the Champion Stakes to round off the year.
