WOMAN LEFT WITH LIFE-CHANGING INJURIES

- By ESTHER HALLIGAN

10 years in jail for coked-up reveller who ploughed car into group at pub

A COKED-UP reveller repeatedly drove his car at people outside a Middlesbrough pub - pinning one woman to a wall and knocking another victim over.

Michael Kinlan, 23, had got into a dispute inside The Green Tree pub, on Gilkes Street in central Middlesbrough, minutes earlier, on June 16 last year.

Teesside Crown Court heard the fight broke out after “someone accused him of being involved in a non-fatal shooting weeks earlier”.

Outside he began kicking and punching people before he got into his Vauxhall Astra parked at the front of the pub. One woman began shouting at him, and threw her glass at his windscreen. Kinlan crashed into the car parked in front of him and then reversed.

He drove straight at a group of people as the crowd screamed and shouted. He reversed, and then drove straight at the woman who had thrown the glass at his car, trapping her between a wall and the Astra.

Several people began banging on his windows and kicking his tyres.
