The World Trade Organization (WTO) called on Filipino women entrepreneurs to expand into international markets, underscoring the untapped potential of women-led micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in driving inclusive growth despite persistent hurdles in trade.
Speaking at the “Her Route to Foreign Markets” workshop in Cebu, Philippine Ambassador to the WTO Manuel A.J. Teehankee said women entrepreneurs play a central role in local development and innovation, yet continue to face systemic challenges ranging from tariff restrictions to compliance with global quality standards.
