"When you play the game Minecraft, it's a total community," says "A Minecraft Movie" director Jared Hess. "There's so many people that play it worldwide all the time, and the friendships that you make in the game are lasting."

Even though "A Minecraft Movie" tells one story, it is just one out of endless possible other stories, which is part of what makes the world of Minecraft so appealing and endearing to many.

"The crazy thing about the game is that when you play the game, there's no story," continues Hess. "Anyone who plays it and there are billions of players worldwide creates their own story. So, there are billions of stories out there, and this is one Minecraft story. It's absurd, it's funny, it's just one of the most outrageous adventure movies you'll ever see."

In the film that's now in cinemas, four misfits Garrett "The Garbage Man" Garrison (Jason Momoa), Henry (Eugene Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers) and Dawn (Danielle Brooks) - find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination.
