We Reap What We Sow

“What you reap” is closely linked to the concept of karma, which suggests that actions create a cycle of cause and effect. It also goes with the saying, “What goes around, comes around.”

- Katherine R. Oyson, Ph.D.

I came by a striking message posted on Facebook one morning which made quite an impression: "Actions have consequences."

The elemental truth implied by the message reminded me of the situation of an acquaintance, wherein her son - who has an addiction problem - would pester her daily for money, along with blaming her for the way his life turned out.

The son blames her for things that're happening in his life. He'd say she was an irresponsible mother, and that if she had been more dutiful, his life would've been better.

She did do her best for him, though she was never exactly perfect, and told him that it was time for him to grow up and be responsible for his actions now. He is, after all, in his forties, and its about time for him to fully take charge of his life.
