The school bell rang loud and clear that Monday morning.
After the Christmas break, the halls of Lakambini Elementary were once again filled with laughter, students catching up in excited voices, slippers turning into shoes, and stories waiting to be told.What made it more special was the thunderous Sinulog beat that echoed in the whole school, which set almost everyone in a dancing mood.
Inside the classroom of VI-Lovelace, Ms. Santos welcomed her class with a smile.
“Welcome back, everyone! Let’s start our year together by sharing how you spent your Christmas break and welcomed the New Year.” Hands slowly went up.
Daniel talked about visiting his grandmother’s farm. He met his childhood friends there. Mae shared how she cooked Noche Buena with her mom. She said she had the best time ever. Jolo proudly admitted losing his voice to a family karaoke marathon. Then Miguel stood up.
