Sustainable livelihood eyed for unemployed solo parents

Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival is eyeing the creation of sustainable livelihood opportunities for unemployed solo parents, outlining initial plans during a recent rice assistance distribution at City Hall.

“Bag-o pa man ko na mayor, ang ako lang, gitagaan nako og pagtagad ang mga solo parent,” Archival told beneficiaries, stressing that solo parents are among the priority sectors of his administration.

The mayor emphasized that while immediate assistance remains important, the city must also develop long-term solutions that provide steady income and financial security.

Archival said the city government is studying the establishment of a financial assistance program specifically for solo parents and is currently identifying possible funding sources to support the initiative.
