Phl property sector thrives amid political uncertainties

Despite ongoing political developments, the Philippine real estate sector remains resilient, with developers tuning out political noise and focusing on legislative reforms and infrastructure projects, according to Colliers Philippines.

"Political uncertainties do not significantly impact the real estate industry. Developers are wise enough to stay focused on market fundamentals," said Colliers Philippines head for research Joey Roi Bondoc in an interview.

According to Bondoc, key concerns right now revolve around legislative measures such as the "Right of Way Act," and the pending "Condominium Redevelopment Act," which are expected to shape urban property markets, particularly in Metro Manila, Cebu, and other key cities.

Bondoc emphasized that passing the Condominium Redevelopment Act will be crucial in revitalizing Metro Manila's aging condominium stock. Similar redevelopment initiatives are anticipated across Cebu and other regions.

Infrastructure development also remains a top priority, as government projects—particularly those initiated by local government units (LGUs)—drive long-term demand.
