Most of Cebu solons vote for Romualdez

The majority of Cebu's representatives were among the 269 representatives who voted for Leyte 1st District Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez to remain as speaker of the House of Representatives.

They are Mandaue City Lone District Rep. Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano Dizon, Lapu-Lapu City Lone District Rep. Junard Chan, 1st District Rep. Rhea Mae Gullas, 2nd District Rep. Edsel Galeos, 3rd District Rep. Karen Hope Flores Garcia, 4th District Rep. Sun Shimura, 6th District Rep. Daphne Lagon, 7th District Rep. Partricia Calderon, and Cebu City South District Rep. Edu Rama.

Cebu 5th District Rep. Duke Frasco and Cebu City North District Rep. Cutie Del Mar were among the 34 representatives who abstained from voting, while Ako Bisaya Partylist Rep. Sonny Lagon also voted for Romualdez.

Frasco said in his Facebook post said that his abstention from voting for Romualdez is a declaration of his position as an independent member of the House of Representatives.
