MCWD, BFP conduct inventory of Cebu City’s 397 fire hydrants
The Freeman
|April 05, 2025
An inventory of fire hydrants in Cebu City has been set to effectively respond to fire incidents especially as the dry season unfolds.
-
The Metropolitan Cebu Water District(MCWD) reported, in its meeting with the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council led by its new chairman Ramil Ayuman last Thursday, that it is currently looking for the 397 fire hydrants spread throughout the city.
MCWD's representative Cesar Pelarca said they have already started checking on the fire hydrants along with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Cebu City.
Based on its initial report, one hydrant was located inside the fence of a residential house in Barangay Sambag 2.
There were also hydrants that were found to be deformed after these were reportedly forcibly opened.
