President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday, September 5, said that the government takeover of the Siquijor Island Power Corp. (SIPCOR) was necessary as the service showed no improvement.
The Energy Regulatory Commission ordered a shutdown of the Villar-owned SIPCOR after it violated multiple operational and regulatory requirements.
