Marcos emotional in podcast amid flood corruption probe

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. appeared visibly emotional in the latest trailer of his podcast, opening up about the hardships faced by ordinary Filipinos amid ongoing government efforts to address rampant corruption in flood control projects.

“Yes, because I’m very upset. I see people having a hard time and they don’t deserve it,” Marcos replied when asked if he was teary-eyed during an interview with journalist Vicky Morales.

The president said that it was unfair for hardworking Filipinos to suffer despite simply trying to work and love their family.

“Mabuti kung masamang tao ‘yan, dapat parusahan. Hindi naman eh, walang ginawa ’yan kung hindi magtrabaho, kung hindi mahalin ang pamilya,” he said.

(If they were bad people, then they should be punished. But they're not. All they did was work and love their family.)

“Ba’t mo paparusahan? Para magpayaman ka? That makes no sense to me,” he added.
