Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Jovito “Jonkie” Ouano said that Lone District Representative Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon has pledged P150 million for the construction of the seven-story MCC campus, along with another P150 million for the proposed modern city hospital—an amount that could still be doubled.

In an interview with reporters, he added that this funding may increase, especially following the budget cuts to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for flood control projects.

The congresswoman’s effort to reallocate a portion of those funds could potentially boost her pledge for the administration’s flagship programs.

“P150 million man to iya initially pledge for each (project), possible ma-double to P300 (million) plus,” said Mayor Ouano.

The construction of the new Mandaue City College (MCC) campus at Norkis Park is set to begin by the first or second quarter of next year. Meanwhile, the city hospital will remain at its current location but will feature modernized facilities.
