Lagon wants “prostitution” in Consolacion looked into

Alleged prostitution activities in Barangay Poblacion Oriental, Consolacion, Cebu, have caught the attention of the Capitol after disturbing reports surfaced involving minors and public sex-for-hire operations.

Cebu 6th District Board Member Larenz Lagon last Monday filed a resolution urging the town’s police chief to immediately investigate the illicit activities allegedly happening near Sta. Lucia Square.

Lagon said his move was prompted by accounts from individuals in his network and firsthand observations by his staff, who visited the area between 7 P.M. and 11 P.M. and spotted individuals suspected to be engaged in prostitution.

According to Lagon, the reports were troubling enough to merit immediate attention, especially since some accounts claim the alleged operations have been ongoing for at least six years.

“There are people, especially minors, being involved in that matter... That’s why I made this urgent resolution. We have to adopt it and send it right away to the chief of police,” he said.
