Kiss the impeachment goodbye
The Freeman
|June 03, 2025
The biggest winners in the last elections were the Dutertes. Do I need to tell you who were the biggest losers? Aside from pollsters like Pulse Asia, the last senatorial race sealed the destiny of the vice president's impeachment. That is why Sara and Imee were celebrating.
With more than nine votes leaning to most likely return a verdict of not guilty, the Palace, House, and Senate can kiss the impeachment goodbye. They should explore other options or face the ultimate outcome of eating the dust in 2028. The Dutertes now have the upper hand and this administration, not just BBM, is a big lame duck looking for a bigger scapegoat.
Alyansa campaign manager Toby Tiangco admitted that it was the impeachment of VP Sara and the arrest and surrender by the BBM government of former president Rodrigo Duterte to the ICC that caused the debacle of the administration Senate slate. He was telling the truth.
We know that in Cebu a few days before the elections, the president went to the Dumanjug rally where Governor Gwen endorsed the entire administration slate minus Imee Marcos. What happened? That endorsement was a kiss of death. In Cebu, all the candidates endorsed by the governor lost to the Duterte 10, Bam, and Kiko. Here are the 12 bets who won in Cebu: Bong Go, Bato dela Rosa, Jimmy Bondoc, Rodante Marcoleta, Camille Villar, Bam Aquino, Philip Salvador, Raul Lambino, Jayvee Hinlo, Erwin Tulfo, Vic Rodriguez, and Pia Cayetano.
