Hontiveros visits quake-hit areas in Northern Cebu

In the wake of the devastating earthquake that struck Northern Cebu, Senator Risa Hontiveros visited Bogo City and the municipalities of Daanbantayan and San Remigio yesterday, October 20, 2025, as part of her continuing relief and recovery mission across affected areas.

In Daanbantayan, Hontiveros inspected the municipal hall to assess structural conditions and discuss urgent rehabilitation needs with local officials.

She later proceeded to the Daanbantayan Command Center, where she was warmly received by Mayor Gilbert Arrabis, who briefed her on the town’s current challenges and priority areas for assistance.

The senator was also given an overview of ongoing response operations, disaster preparedness protocols, and coordination efforts being carried out on the ground.

Hontiveros commended the swift response of local authorities and volunteers, emphasizing the need for sustained support from national agencies.
