Gwen endorses Kiko Pangilinan

Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, founder of the ruling One Cebu Party, has officially endorsed former senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan in his bid to return to the Senate in 2025.

The endorsement was made on May 6, 2025, during a gathering of barangay captains and mayors from Cebu’s fifth and sixth districts—just a day before Pangilinan’s “miting de avance” in Cebu City.
Garcia’s backing of Pangilinan is especially notable as One Cebu had earlier endorsed 10 senatorial candidates under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Alyansa ng Bagong Pilipinas ticket.
“Daghang salamat, Cebu! Lubos ang ating pasasalamat kay Gov. Gwen Garcia sa mainit na pagtanggap at pag-endorso sa atin sa mga mayor, board members, at barangay captains ng Cebu,” Pangilinan said in a Facebook post.
