Daskeo returns as LCPO director

|January 27, 2026
Police Colonel Agosto Daskeo has returned to the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO) as its new city director.
Daskeo officially assumed the post last week following a turnover ceremony with outgoing acting city director Police Col. Antonietto Cañete. Prior to Cañete's designation, Daskeo had also served as officer-in-charge of the LCPO from October 19 to November 14 last year.
He was later reassigned to the Police Regional Office 7 (PRO-7) headquarters, where he served as acting chief of the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD).
In an exclusive interview with The Freeman, Daskeo expressed happiness at returning to the LCPO—this time as city director—while acknowledging the challenges of sustaining peace and order in the city.
“Masaya naman and then I feel it’s challenging yung trabaho,” Daskeo said.
“Syempre, ima-manage mo ba naman ang isang buong peace and order problems—hindi naman ganon kadali mag-manage ng ganong bagay,” he added.
