In a major step toward bolstering local disaster preparedness and resilience, the Department of Social Welfare and Development-7 through its KALAHI-CIDSS Regional Program Management Office, recently launched the Philippine Community Resilience Project (PCRP) in Central Visayas.

The orientation, held in Mandaue City, gathered 27 municipalities from Cebu and Bohol and marked the official kickoff of PCRP's implementation in the region.

The event provided key stakeholders with a comprehensive overview of the project's framework, implementation process, timeline, and enrollment requirements.

PCRP is a five-year national initiative designed to enhance community capacities in resilience planning while supporting access to resilient infrastructure and livelihood investments in disaster-prone areas.

Nationwide, the project will cover 500 municipalities in 49 provinces.
