City boosts farm recovery with indemnity payouts

The Cebu City Government underscored its commitment to farmer recovery and rural resilience as Mayor Nestor Archival Sr. led the turnover of indemnity checks to upland beneficiaries in partnership with the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) and the City Agriculture Department (CAD).

Farmers from Lusaran, Sirao, and Sinsin received a total of P40,540 in claims for livestock deaths and crop damage.
The distribution, held at the Office of the Mayor, was witnessed by City Agriculturist Joey Baclayon and PCIC Region VII representatives led by Enrico Emmanuel Ilumba, affirming the city's continuing effort to strengthen agricultural communities through accessible insurance programs.
Mayor Archival and the CAD reiterated that crop and livestock insurance is free for all Cebu City farmers.
