Cebu, Bohol prioritizing bridge project
The Freeman

Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro expressed optimism that the provincial governments of Cebu and Bohol are pushing to fast-track the long-delayed Cebu-Bohol Expressway project in a renewed effort to boost inter-island connectivity, tourism, and economic growth in Central Visayas.
-
In a press briefing yesterday, Baricuatro disclosed that she and Bohol Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado are working together to prioritize the expressway project, which has already been approved by the Regional Development Council (RDC) in Central Visayas.
"This would really help in our tourism and economic growth in both provinces," said Baricuatro.
She said the proposed 25-kilometer inter-island bridge would likely be implemented under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme, similar to the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX), to ensure fast and efficient construction.
"Most likely PPP ni siya just like the CCLEX para paspas kaayo ang project," Baricuatro stated.
The Cebu-Bohol Expressway was first introduced in 2016 as part of former President Rodrigo Duterte's Build, Build, Build program but failed to take off due to funding challenges.

BBM weaponizing the ombudsman?
If the nation takes the words of such trapos as Senators Imee Marcos, Bato de la Rosa, or Rodante Marcoleta, we would be led to believe the appointment of Jesus Crispin Remulla as ombudsman would foment political instability.
