CCPO urges schools to hire more guards amid student-related crimes

Following recent crime incidents involving students, the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) has urged institutions and establishments, especially schools with night classes, to hire additional security guards to maintain peace and order on their premises.

CCPO Deputy Director for Operations Police Lieutenant Colonel Maria Theresa Macatangay said police have observed a rise in criminal activities involving students, many of whom are minors.

“We recognize nga aduna gyud mga issues karon nga nalambigit ang mga estudyante, labi na sa mga night high schools. So karon, naa natay record karon ang Cebu City Police Office sa mga public schools nato nga mga tunghaan apart sa mga klase sa adlawan, naa pod klase sa gabie,” she told reporters on Monday, August 18.
