Bebot Abellanosa wants nat'l funding for CCMC
The Freeman
|April 04, 2025
Cebu City South District congressional candidate Rodrigo “Bebot” Abellanosa is placing healthcare at the forefront of his campaign, with a key focus on converting the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) into a nationally-funded hospital.
This move, he argues, would free the hospital from local political interference and secure sustainable funding for improved healthcare services in the city.
During his guest appearance on The Freeman's Know Your Candidate yesterday, Abellanosa outlined his campaign platform under the acronym HELP—which stands for Health, Education, Livelihood, Progress, and Infrastructure.
While his past legislative efforts have been widely related to championing free education, Abellanosa now wants to bring the same dedication to strengthening Cebu City's public healthcare system.
ON CEBU CITY MEDICAL CENTER (CCMC)
Abellanosa lamented the delays in the completion of CCMC, noting that despite ongoing investigations and bidding processes, no "doable" solution has been put forward.
He believes that transferring CCMC under national government funding would not only shield it from local political conflicts but also ensure better services for Cebuanos.
