Archival meets with partner agencies in preparation bad weather condition
The Freeman
|July 17, 2025
As weather warnings escalate, the Cebu City government braces ahead of heavy rains and possible storm.
Mayor Nestor Archival, alongside City Councilor Dave Tumulak, who chairs of council committee on City’s Disaster Risk Reduction Management, recently met with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CCDRRMO) and representatives from the Philippine Coast Guard, Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD), and other partner agencies.
The City’s resident weather specialist Oscar Tabada warned that a low-pressure area near southeastern Luzon may shift toward northern Luzon, which may bring rain and strong winds to Cebu City.
He noted that “Crising,” the third tropical cyclone to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility this year, is being intensified by the southwest monsoon.
