3 Visayas concepts in 2025 Filipinnovation Awards finals

Three groundbreaking innovations from the Visayas have earned their place in the national finals of the 2025 Filipinnovation Awards, following the Visayas Sub-National Competition held on July 17 in Cebu City.

Organized by the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Region 7 in partnership with the National Innovation Council, the competition showcased solutions addressing food, education, and health challenges.

The top 3 finalists are GRADECHUM (Region 7) — An AI grading assistant that automates the checking of handwritten exams, developed by CodeChum Software Solutions Inc., REZBIN (Region 6) — A smart recycling system promoting efficient waste management, by Rezbin Waste Technology Inc., and OBTD: Oil-based Thermal Disinfection (Region 6) — A hospital waste disinfection technology by FILARB Waste Management Services.
