HIGH ALERT IN BAREILLY: NET SUSPENDED

Security was placed on the highest alert across Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly division on Thursday, with internet services suspended for 48 hours, drones patrolling the skies and thousands of police and paramilitary personnel on the ground.
The extraordinary measures follow last week’s communal flareup in Bareilly city and come as Dussehra festivities reach their peak.
A notification from the state Home Department ordered that mobile internet, broadband and SMS services in Bareilly district remain suspended from 3 pm on October 2 until 3 pm on October 4.
