'Dead' farmer battles system for justice

In a bizarre and equally alarming incident, Sukhlal Barde, 40, a farmer from Kalaamba village in Pansemal block of Barwani district, discovered that he had been wrongly declared dead in the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana records, halting his financial aid since 2022.
The unfortunate revelation came after he applied to resume his financial benefits.
Barde reported that he had consistently received benefits under the scheme, but after the fifth installment in 2022, the payments abruptly ceased, prompting him to investigate.
